The First Annual San Mateo Credit Union, Redwood City PAL Blues Festival was held in July at Sequoia High School. Despite the 105+ degree weather, true blues fans were in attendance to watch great performances by Kenny Neal and Carol Fran, The Madison Blues Band, Kenny "Blue" Ray, Bluestate and the Redwood City All-Stars, and The South City Blues Band.

The event was a huge success raising over $20,000. Sponsors included The San Mateo Credit Union, Norcal Waste, Redwood General Tire, Towne Ford, Provident Credit Union, Gelb Music, Schoenstein Physical Therapy, Comcast, Kohlweiss Auto Parts, Fission Digital, Stanford Hospital, First National Bank, Saier Services, On-Broadway Redwood City, and The Pacific Athletic Club.
